If it’s any consolation, House Speaker Martin Romualdez was the only high-ranking public official who saw an increase is his trust and satisfaction ratings based on the latest survey of independent pollster Tangere.
Conducted in March, the Tangere survey results showed that Romualdez’s trust and satisfaction ratings both went up by 1 percentage point.
Specifically, Romualdez’s trust rating increased from 51 percent in February to 52 percent in March of this year, while his satisfaction rating increased from 40 percent in February to 41 percent the following month.
While the Speaker’s numbers went up, those from other top government officials either dipped or remained the same.
President Marcos continues to enjoy high trust and satisfaction ratings at 54 percent and 41 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte’s trust and satisfaction figures slid by 4 percentage points and 3 percentage points, respectively, to 64 percent and 54 percent. This was the highest reduction as per the Tangere survey.
Romualdez, the leader of the 300-plus strong House of Representatives and the fourth highest official of the land, scored the highest ratings in the Visayas region in terms of both trust and satisfaction among the respondents.
The latest Tangere survey polled 2,000 respondents, with a margin of error of +/- 2.2 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
The results of a Publicus Asia survey released Tuesday, April 2, showed that Romualdez’s approval rating dropped from 36 percent to 25 percent.
Romualdez represents Leyte’s 1st district in the House of Representatives.
