Solutions Over Speeches: 48.3 Percent of Filipinos Want Concrete Action Plan in SONA 2026

MANILA, Philippines — As President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. prepares for his fifth address, public expectations remain firmly grounded in tangible results. According to the latest 2026 State of the Nation Address survey conducted by EON and market research firm Tangere, 48.3 percent of Filipinos prioritize concrete solutions to current national problems.

Specifically, the nationwide mobile poll surveyed 1,200 Filipino adults from July 7 to 10, 2026. Overall, the findings point to a central credibility challenge for the administration. Currently, nearly half of respondents (49.4 percent) distrust the government’s ability to address national issues. Meanwhile, 55.0 percent feel the government does not listen to ordinary citizens.

“The survey indicates a shift from promises to proof,” said Martin Xavier Peñaflor, Chief Executive Officer of Tangere. “Consequently, citizens are looking beyond accomplishment reports. For corporate leaders and policy decision-makers, understanding this demand for accountability is vital when navigating public expectations.”

What Filipinos Want to Hear and Priority Issues

Public Demands Immediate Action and Accountability
