ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo and his brother, media executive Ben “Bitag” Tulfo, emerged as frontrunners in the Senate race in the latest pre-election preferential Survey by Tangere.
The survey, conducted from Nov. 6 to 9, highlighted the strong voter preference of the Tulfo brothers across regions and socio-economic classes.
Congressman Tulfo gained a 2.5-percent increase in voter preference, performing strongly in nearly all regions and socio-economic groups. His most significant support came from voters ages 26-50, while he saw relatively lower preference among those ages 18-25 and those over 51.
Ben Tulfo achieved notable gains in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Central and Northern Luzon, pushing him closer to the top tier of candidates. Ben’s support also lagged among voters over 51 years old.
Sen. Bong Go, with a 50.13 percent voter preference, ranked 3rd-4th place, bolstered by strong support from Mindanao and voters ages 36-50.
Former Senate president Tito Sotto also posted an increase in voter preference, particularly in Central and Northern Luzon, although his appeal among younger voters remained limited.
Former senators Manny Pacquiao (41.50 percent) and Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (41.00 percent), and Sen. Pia Cayetano (40.46 percent) held the 5th to 7th positions, driven by regional and demographic-specific voter support.
Makati Mayor Abby Binay ranked 8th (37 percent), followed by former interior secretary Benhur Abalos at 9th (33.96 percent).
