LENI ROBREDO AND BASTE DUTERTE LEAD CONTRASTING 2028 SCENARIOS IN LATEST TANGERE SURVEY

MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President Leni Robredo and Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte lead contrasting electoral scenarios in the latest Tangere 2028 presidential survey. Market research firm Tangere conducted the non-commissioned mobile poll following Baste Duterte’s appearance before the Senate impeachment court.

Crucially, the study evaluated two distinct post-impeachment scenarios to analyze shifting voter preferences across a fragmented electorate. For more polling analysis, explore our latest market research blog posts.

Key Insights From the Tangere 2028 Presidential Survey

The poll evaluated both a consolidated field and an expanded roster containing Mayor Leni Robredo and Senator Raffy Tulfo:

  • Scenario 1 (Consolidated Field): In a race without Robredo and Tulfo, Baste Duterte leads the presidential preferences with 29%. Meanwhile, Senator Bong Go trails closely at 26%, followed by Bam Aquino at 20% and Sherwin Gatchalian at 10%.
  • Scenario 2 (Expanded Field): Upon entry, Leni Robredo instantly unifies the opposition, taking the lead with 29%. Baste Duterte follows with 22%, while Bong Go captures 18% and Raffy Tulfo enters with 14%.
  • Vice-Presidential Landscape: Senator Robin Padilla maintains a stable lead across both scenarios, capturing 29% support in Scenario 1 and 28% in Scenario 2. Meanwhile, Bam Aquino surges to 23% in Scenario 2.

Business & Policy Takeaway: Consequently, corporate decision-makers and public affairs strategists should monitor these shifting dynamics carefully. Because neutral voters represent 37% of the electorate, uncommitted swing votes will heavily influence political stability.

Demographic Shifts and Cross-Partisan Dynamics

Furthermore, cross-tab analysis reveals key shifts across major political factions:

  • Administration Base Division: In Scenario 2, 45% of Marcos/administration supporters swing to Leni Robredo.
  • Pro-Duterte Fracture: Among Duterte supporters, preferences split between Baste Duterte (56%) and Bong Go (33%).
  • Tulfo’s Disruption: Raffy Tulfo draws male neutral voters in NCR and Balance Luzon, pulling support from both Baste Duterte and Bong Go.
